Work with us

Not just an “ordinary place”, but “the right place for you”.

Educating is a vocation

In German, the word Beruf means both “vocation” and “profession”. This is also the case for us: working for JobsAcademy is a vocation. It is not equal to a “religious” matter: we decided to precisely look for People who feel called to work with us (the Latin verb “vocare” means just that, “to call”).

When we say that in JobsAcademy everyone comes to work first and foremost out of vocation rather than to simply carry out professional tasks, we mean that all collaborators must know, share and adopt as their own the purpose, the charism of this Opera. Therefore, everyone who works in whichever capacity for JobsAcademy is an Educator: we are all Educators first, regardless of our different job positions. The action of self-identifying with the charism of the Opera means, inevitably, to consider it as a benchmark for one’s own human needs, and to propose it to each person one meets along the way. How? Not through a speech, of course, but by the way one approaches any aspect of their professional duties.

Synthetically, we could say that we are all Educators because we are all seriously engaged with the existential questions that ignite life.

“The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.”

People at the Center

So that all this does not remain a pious intention, we have developed a very rigorous recruiting system. For if the vocation is one – towards life as education – people’s skills and professionalism are many, and helping each person find “his or her place” fosters both that person’s personal growth and the betterment of JobsAcademy.

Additionally, over time we have increasingly intensified the managers’ teamwork. Indeed, the risk of the task taking precedence over the responsibility of the role is always lurking. Learning to work in teams and continually referring back to the charism as ultimate benchmark is a method to mitigate such risk, and to constantly address the issue of the task in light of JobsAcademy’s ultimate scope.

Finally, with regard to employees’ compensation, we have implemented a system known as the Total Rewarding System, in which the following items are added to the basic salary of each respective function:

a goal-linked component, which measures the resourcefulness and responsibility of the individual;

a welfare component, which focuses on family-work balance and is identical regardless of job position, thus putting the Person rather than the job at the center.
